Bathroom mould

Summer half term... A glorious time!
We were away for quite a long time. I always have a house sitter when away.
This time I got back to this! If you could see me, you would have seen my head hair stand up from the horror (just like in silly movies)
But afraid not! Bleach to the rescue!
I buy the cheapest stuff for bleach, no fancy Domestos.
Instructions:
1) Pour bleach on the mouldy areas.
2) Leave for about 10 minute.
3) Check if it is cleared after #2. (you can leave overnight, just be sure you have good ventilation in place).
4) Scrub a little with an old toothbrush if needed.
And voila, it's all gone! :)

Hours of fun!

We all trying to find ways for our kids to entertain themselves while we are doing our chores, working or just need some time quite. I have stumbled upon a winner! Had to try immediately.
Pour baking soda on a tray, the thicker the layer the better. Add food coloring into a few pots of vinegar and have a pipet, or in our case I hade a 1ml syringe. Let the kids drop coloured vinegar on to soda and see what happens. An hour of coloured fizzing fun. The more colours the better, they can be mixed in a pipet and you will get a rainbow! Unfortunately my food colouring is not good, not much tint to it. So note to myself - get good food coloring ;)

Very yummy TWO ingredient cookies!

Two ingredient cookies

As I had sooo many things to do in a short window between me getting home from my training and picking up kids from school and taking them to their Kung Fu class, I needed something very quick to make for them to snack. It had to be wholesome, no sugar and provide energy for a tired child after school to last her through a high energy KungFu class. And I have found a fantastic cookie recipe! It's quick to prepare, cooked in 15 min, has only TWO main ingredients and you can have any adds in you want!
What you will need:
2 over ripen bananas
1 cup of quick oats
Mash up bananas with oats, add if you want raisins, nuts etc. Or dont add anything else, they still will be fab.
Today I have added fresh vanilla and 70% chocolate drops.
Then spoon it on a GREASED(it sticks!) paper and bake for about 15 min.
I LOVED them and my kids too, they ate a whole lot :)))  Konstancia was stuffing her mouth just to get most of them LOL
It was big success and will make many more times!

Here we have:oats, bananas and chocolate chips

All mashed up

Already in the snack box

Soft toy storage... Хранение мягких игрушек

I think every mother with baby/ies or a toddler/s has soft toy problem-toomanydontknowwheretoputthem problem. So I've searched the NET and came up with this. Got myself a wall flower basket/planter, it is very light.
I had a colour tester pot of yellow paint from Wilko and I painted the planter with a sponge, two layers. Mounted it onto a bookcase. As I got the bookcase from freecycle and it was hugely chiped on one side, it's ok, can do anything with it without feeling sorry :)

But it does look lovely! You can have loads of these baskets all over the wall and make them any colour you want. But my advice would be to use spray paint if you have.
What do you think? How do you store your child's soft toys?

Beautiful hands easy how to

It's time for cleaning the kitchen. Hate doing it :(( So I'm trying to use this opportunity to make my hands look BEAUTIFUL! How you ask me? Simples ;)
Before you put your yellow(or any other colour) protective gloves smother your hands in olive oil. I use home-made olive oil I get from Greece from my mother in law. She brings olives in it, and once olives are eaten I reuse the oil in cooking and beauty things. Any way, once you smother your hands in oil put them in gloves and do all the cleaning you need to do in the kitchen or bathroom or wherever. When you are done cleaning and take your gloves off, voilà, beautiful skin.
You can also add a few drops of fresh lemon juice and/or honey or any other stuff or oil you want.

Have fun cleaning ad take care :D

Hate ironing but THIS makes it so much better!

I really really don't like ironing! But then after I've used an ironing water bought from the shop, I have decided to make one myself. What I do is take water, I use filtered from my BRITA(to avoid lime-scale build up in your iron), put it in an empty mineral water bottle, mix  a few drops of essential oil(i like jasmine)with a few drops of vodka and add it to the water, shake it well and pour it in the iron. When I iron and the steam comes out it smells sooooo nice. I put only 2-3 drops for the iron.
The other way to do it if you are worried about your iron and have your cloths to smell nice is:
2 1/2 cups mineral or filtered  water (to avoid lime-scale)
ml essential oils, of your own choice (do choose a clear and not dark coloured oil, approx 100 drops)
1/8 cup vodka or any spirit with ethanol (surgical for ex)
Instructions:
1 In a small dish mix the vodka and the essential oil.
2 Add this to the distilled water and pour into a spray bottle
3 Shake before use
The mix will cloud, and eventually separate.Shake well before each use.

    Homemade Lavender Water Recipes

Picture of Lavender Buds In Glass Jar - Tipnut.comLavender water can be used in a variety of ways around the house. Some ideas:
    • When washing bedding and linens, add some lavender water to the rinse cycle. Your bedding will have a light lavender scent (lavender helps those with sleep problems).
    • Use when ironing, spritz a bit of the lavender water on the items being ironed. Will add a nice lavender scent to the garment.
    • Lavender water can also be used as a beauty aid, try it as a skin freshener on hot summer days, a hair rinse, splash in the bath or dab around temples for headache relief.
    • Insect repellent, try it for mosquito repellent use as well as a mosquito bite itch helper. Lavender deters flies and other insects too.

    Coconut oil and Beer

Sunday morning....hmmmm ...what to cook for breakfast? My kids with my husband in unison: ''Pancakes!'' Or in this part of the world they are called Crepes. And I use Coconut Oil for frying. Relative to other cooking oils, it creates minimal harmful by-products when heated. The oil smells coconut but when you cook the smell and the taste disappear. I haven't tried to use it in salads or in any other way for cooking, but I like to fry on it. Totally replaced butter and other frying oils I used to use.
Apparently the health benefits of coconut oil include hair care, skin care, stress relief, maintaining cholesterol levels, weight loss, increased immunity, proper digestion and metabolism, relief from kidney problems, heart diseases, high blood pressure, diabetes, HIV and cancer, dental care, and bone strength. Check here for more details. But as my further research showed that lots of it is under  a big Question.
On one of the discussion boards some one wrote: ''Coconut is also great for love making, its slippery and tastes great!!!!!!!!!!''  Hehehe

On the second note, as I mentioned I love experimenting. I cooked a semolina porridge my kids just love, and  it ran away and burned to the bottom. Thank God not all of it! I left it to soak overnight, scrubbed with sponges and brushes and some special scrachy thingy with special cream/paste and NADA. Then I remembered my trick to clean with Coca Cola, didn't have  as we don't drink it. What else? Soda! Check - finished grrr... Then I saw a beer, left over from the guests(as we don't drink it). And thought: it is gassy too, why not to try it! So as you can see from the pictures below it worked too! Hahaha
    The Pan
                                                                          The beer

                                                                 Bring to the boil
                                                Scrabadaba-dub with a brush
                                                              A bit more....
                                                                      And Voila !!

Great day everyone and lots of happy smiles!
